Margot Barolo
Margot Barolo was educated at Beckmans and holds a master's degree in ceramics from Konstfack. She has long been a part of the Swedish art and design industry. With Coffee & More, she created one of Sagaform’s most iconic collections—a tableware series that combines playfulness and functionality through a clean design language and carefully selected colours. Her unique design and love for ceramics are evident in this collection. Now, a new colour is being launched—a warm and inviting beige, perfect as a complement to the existing shades.
The fact that Margot Barolo doesn’t drink coffee feels almost ironic, considering she is the designer behind a collection often associated with coffee moments. But to her, a cup of coffee is more than just a beverage—it’s a gesture of togetherness.
"No matter what culture you find yourself in, it’s a way of welcoming, inviting conversation, and fostering friendship", she says.
With a mix of playfulness and functionality, the Coffee & More collection has been a favourite since its launch in 2018. Designer Margot Barolo shares her inspiration from the vibrant colours of the 1970s, the thoughts behind the new beige hue, and how the collection not only celebrates table aesthetics but also the people who gather around it.

A favourite since 2018
Already in 2018, the Coffee & More tableware collection was launched—a collaboration between Sagaform and designer Margot Barolo. Looking back on the design process, Margot expresses deep joy over the positive response the collection has received since its debut.
"It’s heartwarming to hear how people use and appreciate it just as we had hoped," she says with a smile.
Playfulness and functionality as guiding principles
The vision behind Coffee & More was to create a collection that merges playfulness with functionality - a series that looks just as good in the cupboard as it does on the table.
"I wanted it to help you create a beautiful table setting as well as an attractive display in your cupboards, whether arranged neatly or in organised chaos. It should suit a variety of personalities," says Margot.
With its sturdy design and stackability, Coffee & More encourages personal creativity. The collection invites you to mix and match colours, patterns, and shapes freely.
"The patterns are designed to both clash and complement one another, making the collection feel vibrant whether stacked or set on the table," Margot explains.
The inspiration playfully nods to the vibrant colours and design language of the 1970s, reflected in its clean, functional lines. The collection is tied together by soothing hues, a high-gloss glaze, and the distinctive relief detailing that gives each piece its character.
A new colour that adds warmth.
This season, Coffee & More expands with a soft beige shade. Creating the perfect tone has been a challenge- balancing warmth and lightness within such a broad colour spectrum has required precision and countless samples.
"This colour was chosen to blend seamlessly into a variety of environments and styles while maintaining its own character. It’s a shade that feels contemporary yet timeless," says Margot.
"I’ve long wanted to create a light yet warm tone that truly enhances the deeper colours in the collection. Beige also provides a contrast to the stark white that has long dominated the design world."
Set the Table with Coffee & More
When Margot shares her tips for setting the table with Coffee & More, she emphasises the importance of letting colours and details speak for themselves:
"I love mixing different colours, like the new beige alongside red and green. If I have a nice wooden surface, I often skip the tablecloth—I want the colours to stand out freely against the background."
She recommends decorating with greenery, stacking the tableware at varying heights, and adding candleholders in different styles to create a lively and inviting atmosphere. Personally, she enjoys setting a buffet where it’s quick to create something both beautiful and practical.
